Terrain cratering and unit debris

This is probably very much not viable, I'm sure they're stretching the engine and hardware to the limits, but ... I think making terrain defects and having debris that lingers might add to immersion for a game like Singularity.  It'd probably be a bad idea for multiplayer, and again not even for single player, but ... I think persistent terrain damage such as craters from explosions might add to the immersiveness of a game whose developers like to plug it as being massive scale.

The Engine can do that with no problem, but I think the Dev's have more Priority's than Debris and Craters.

Still I love the idea!

I understand permanent wreckage will come later. Craters would be cool. One thing I would love before then is for the aircraft to actually blow up and their bits to fly out. If they disintegrate as they hit the ground that is fine. TA and the SupComs have this (well most RTS) and it looks fantastic and adds a lot to the atmosphere and fun. Fizzling out just doesn't do it for air I think.

"trons" out

ha, I like that expression. Perhaps they can make the explosion big enough to hide that for the time being. At least they get an explosion unlike the poor air stuff :p
