Growing city? How????

What's the secret to "expand city". Twice I've had the option, twice I've clicked all over the place trying get to accept any place I select, twice it randomly picked a tile that I didn't want and never clicked on. Yay, mountains.

 So, it's definitely not selected by left click or right click...what button is it?

So, needing some clues, thanks.

It is left click I believe, but you are limited to a range of selections generating out from your city. IIRC, there will be slight green or red circles showing when you hover over areas while growing the city. You have to choose one of the green ones. If you were selecting a tile far from your city the game was probably just picking the closest tile to where your mouse cursor was located.

 

I just went and tried it. It is left click to select which tile you want and then left click on the "Done" button which appears in the bottom middle of the map. You will know things went right because a small group of houses will appear on the map on the tile you chose to expand into.

I think things look a bit goofy as the circle doesn't stay illuminated as you go to press the done button. Think that would be a better UI choice Stardock.

I don't suppose there's a way to increase the font size? Man, that's a lot of tiny print...
