Help with windowed resolution

I am a quadriplegic gamer. I need the game to run in a 1024x768 window, to leave room on the screen for my hands-free mouse interface. I went to Documents >My Games>SK >Pref and adjusted the display height and width. usedesktopresolution = 0 fullscreen = 0. I get the right size window, but the game appears even smaller with black in the rest of the window. the interface doesn't work. Any help would be appreciated

Hello,

Sorry to hear you are having trouble.

Regrettably, the resolution that you wish to play the game at is too low for the game to respond correctly. 

 

Since you edited the prefs within the game (and not your Windows settings) to your desired resolution, this error message was not generated:

Had you had your Windows resolution set to your desired gaming resolution then this message would have appeared.

Sounds like your only choices are:

1. Return game on steam, if you have had it less than 2 weeks, and played less than 2 hours - obviously that 2nd part is fine :(

2. Get a bigger monitor (or borrow one to troubleshoot,)

3. If you post (or PM me) the changes you made, I'll try it out on my monitor for you. I am running 1920 x 1200 so should have no problems trying that setup

Say, how do you make new thread? Tired of squinting all over black/red page trying to figure it out.

 

Also, what's the secret to "expand city". Twice I've had the option, twice I've clicked all over the place trying get to accept any place I select, twice it randomly picked a tile that I didn't want and never clicked on. Yay, mountains.
