Ideas for bases instead of the Nexus.

Why not have a crashed ship, and your engineers come out from it.. Would look a lot better.

I got to say that the nexus is nothing special.

Really need to get that epicness. Look at the home-world crashed ship./

Doesn't fit the lore so much, I think. I could be wrong, the whole expansion event is not too specific on that.

There is lore, the Nexus is essentially the Seed. Seeds get sent out to start sucking up planets and gaining the Turinium. If you watched the ign videos of Homeworld you start off from a massive base, no crashed ships in sight. They are such different games.

It would be cool if should you gain a Turinium victory something actually happened to show the seed/nexus start to convert the planet or some other visual cue that what is happening is actually super destructive and not cool for the galaxy.

Well it looks boring.

If all of the bases were crashed ships, then they would all look boring as well.

A crash can't explain how losing the seed/crashed ship loses the game. You'd actually have to contrive that the crashed ships were still in fact partially functional and that two to six different crashed ships were miraculously in similar states of partial functionality. It's more implausible than a nice shiny building popping up out of nowhere because the lore at least supports the latter thanks to the inclusion of long-distance matter manipulation.

Besides, I'd rather they spend their limited time and money remaining on gameplay improvements. Maybe the expansion can focus on significant flavor improvements.

how would two competing concurrents for turinium land and start competing for a planet at the exact same second anyhow ?

If you put just about any RTS under that kind of magnifying glass it won't hold up.

But I agree, and have said elsewhere how it could be done, that being able to move/teleport the Nexus would add a lot to the game. I hope it comes in at some point, obviously post-release at this point.

This is really easy for the Dev's to do, just keep the Nexus but create a small base around it with 1 AA Turret and 1 Smarty and small walls or something like that.

Just for the Nexus.

Take this example from Homeworld: Deserts of Kharak, Base, it looks cool.

I am no comparing Homeworld: Deserts of Kharak with Ashes of the Singularity at all, they are 2 different games, i think in Homeworld: Deserts of Kharak you can have 100 Units Max per side.

So Ashes for me will be way Funner to play Compared to Homeworld.
