Notepad Freezes

When I hover over the Microsoft Notepad list on the Start 8 task list it freezes the computer. I have since removed Notepad from the list and the issue has gone away. I would like to put Notepad back on the menu as I use it fairly frequently.

Do you have files on a network drive in the recent documents list for notepad?

That might be causing a delay.
