This appears to be a Windows Limitation.  We are looking at how to work around it.

Oh my!...again these OS limitations))) I hope you will find the way to arroud this problem in future updates. Great app! Thank you!

The new feature than I'm enthusiastic about is the ability to roll up fences to the title bar.

The other features don't really matter much to me. For example, I'm currently running Fences 2.0 on Win 10 without any problems, so Win 10 compatibility is not an issue. And it never felt the desire to blur the wallpaper.

I'm curious as to which new feature(s) is/are the biggest selling point(s) for you?

Thanks for the comment

But i checked that and fences are not locked.

Please copy and paste %appdata%\Stardock\Fences into Windows Explorer and you should see a directory called TroubleshootingLog

Zip that up and send it to us via https://esupport.stardock.com/index.php?/default_import/Tickets/Submit (or send the files in the individually).

Please explain or link to this forum post so we know what is what.

Support may ask for other information too

Thanks.

A little update.

I was running a insider preview build of Windows,

Past weekend i freshly installed windows 10 without being a insider

Now everything is working fine.

I think fences is not compatible with insider previews!

Do you recall what build it was?

#BUG or Glitch#
When changing wallpapers manually or when wallpapers change automatically while background blur is on, all fences turn completely see-through for 2-4 seconds before becoming blurred again, wich doesn't look that nice in combination with the multi-monitor bug.

+1 Fences 3 issues with insider preview Windows 10 build 14343.  I cannot open the Fences control panel dialog.  I cannot create new fences.

Bug.  Working on it.  Thanks for reporting.

Is this a free upgrade for existing Fences 2 users? I am curious because I have updated fences to 3.01 on my computer and it now asks for registration. I have tried with my email/registration key as well as trying to activate with the Stardock account, but no luck. Restarting the PC does not help at all either.

It's only free if you bought within the last 90 days before release.  Fences 2 users do have a discount and can purchase for $5.

There is a link at the bottom of this page: https://www.stardock.com/products/fences/download.asp

Upgraded but don't see any difference.

I have activated the software, but whenever I double click a fence to roll it, I get a message to entering license key again, though its already activated.

"Win10 users can have translucent ... fence."

But NOT if you run DeskScapes by Stardock on Windows 10.   :'(

We are looking ways to handle the conflict.

I ran the installer, but Fences 2 appears to still be running. Shouldn't it have updated/upgraded my old install? If I manually uninstall Fences 2 do I lose my configuration?

Does Fences3 work on Windows7 home premium?  Or does it do all the new stuff only on windows10?

Fences 3 is supported on Windows 7. Blurring of the wallpaper behind a Fences is Windows 10 only.

Just updated: strange issue: every time I enable fences (using the enable button in the settings) I'm unable to move my desktop icons, scroll in a fence, make a new fence, scroll to a second desktop page,... I'm only able to right, left click on stuff.

(windows 10 pro 64bit -- clean install of fences using revo uninstaller)

Edit: If i disable fences using the same button I can move my icons again.

Edit: just found something, when I move an icon using right click (press right mouse button down on an icon, move it to somewhere, release right mouse button) and then select the "Move here" option. It works? But al the other things still don't work.

I ran into this issue too. I think it's because the Fences are locked. Right click a Fence, go to "View", then untick "Lock Fences".

I have sent a ticket request as well.

Windows 10, x64

Insider Preview.

Version 1511 (OS Build 14352.1002)

Dual monitors.

Fences installed fresh.

Can create fences on desktop, or move existing fences.

The configure fences window does not display in Windows at all, though taskmgr says it's running.
