I bought a one year subscription?

So I just bought Object Desktop thinking that it would give me access to the software for life...

After I enter my downloads it says it expires in 365 days.

Nowhere in the store said that I was buying a suscription to the software, so I´m now requesting a refund and a cancellation for this.

You should really put that somewhere in the store.

The software is yours to keep for "life".

What it does say on the store is free updates and access to beta products for one year.

Should you still require a refund then follow these instructions - https://store.stardock.com/policy.aspx#Policy_ReturnPolicy

Also, there is a special reduced price for renewing your subscription.

You get the software for life, though if your membership runs out, you can no longer update or download the software. You could still use it and activate however.

I've had a subscription in the past but let it lapse as I was not using it.  This year, I renewed it and did not pay full price and my old software packages were still available to download even before I renewed my subscription.  Stardock is an honest company so hope maybe you will rethink your decision to request a refund but, of course, that is entirely up to you.

Oh, now I understand.

In that case I will be no longer requesting the refund.

Thanks all for your quick responses and your help.

It's always best to save your latest downloads and Odjectdock serial number in case you decide not to renew. If you don't renew then you will have them to use later. I believe it's only $29.95 to renew each year.

And well worth the price.  :-)

I just ran into the same issue.

I just purchased an Object Desktop license, but what I got with the license key under My Account > My Downlods was this:

Object Desktop - Expires in 365 days
Product key: xxxxxxxxxxxx

Luckily this forum-thread rectify this unclear information, so I really got a lifetime license for the software as expected.

I suggest to change the information in the portal to:

"Object Desktop - Update support expires in 365 days"

Actually what it says is correct. The programs are yours forever. However if you don't renew when the year is up you will not be permitted to download anything. Your present sign in info will have expired.

It's up to you if you know you will not sign up again to save your programs and product key to your own computer, drive, etc. Because if your sub runs out you will not only have no access to updates you won't have access to your programs. So remember to save them.
