hacktool

and MS Sec Essentials

MS security essentials just detected four hacktool folders - but stopped midstream in quarenteening.  Then hung up system.  Herd protect, Adv Sys Care, and IObits not detect hacktool.  MS website says running its MS Sec Ess will take care ot it.  Does it really?  Suggestions?  Appreciate viable suggestions / experienced help.

Just for the record, I use a flash drive based program called PortableApps, it contains a bunch of system tools I use when repairing PCs. I also use GeGeek ToolKit.  These are good, useful tools that are not malware but some security programs, including MSE and ASC will flag them as hacktools.

This is because they give me access to files I would normally not have access to. Hence being seen as a tool for hacking. NOT necessarily a bad thing, in the right hands.

This said, I normally whitelist those "hacktools". I need them and know how to use them.

ran it overnight, with modem off, and MSE snaggged 'em.  Thanks!
