Ashes of the Singularity: November Status Report

We are just about ready to release 0.64 which has a lot of small improvements to it from last week’s build as well as a pretty big new feature: The power amplifier.  Your engineer can build this onto your power generators to double the resource output of a region.

Now, let’s talk about upcoming changes for the beta.

Early Game Decisions

It is important that the game provide players with multiple early game decisions that are viable.  Below are some decision matrices we are working toward:

Hopefully, there will be a lot of viable strategies along with suggestions for more viable strategies.  But what we want to do as designers is make sure there are multiple viable strategies that we can think of and make sure they’re balanced.

Building extractors near the Nexus at the start is not viable? I have literally never tried to play without doing so. I better see how the game plays without doing it.

Around the 1:30 mark there is no other viable strategy except building a quantum relay. Because if you do not build one as early as possible you hit the logistics cap and subsequently fall behind. As such, quantum relay into logistics is a required build, so there isn't much in the way of decisions. Looks like they listened to you and now players start with 100 Quanta. Adds a bit more choice.

Oh, okay thanks for the info (Ticktoc) and thanks for the addition (devs)! Maybe I should pay more attention to the steam forums than the official ones?

Something i want to see how it works The power amplifier. 


Just a note , some where in time you guys will have to think in tatics and options to this game .(lets see what next update bring)

I know its too soon for that i will be waiting for Player requested features. (free)  i have lot thoughts like most players obvius.

When we see a map i/we think, and thinking put  all the ashes book open with all options ashes have for me, right now not mush tatic  but its normal ,its all part  this great game process,this game no diferent then others on that point.

 For now the important , Beta 1: November 2015  ,so day after day we all be here with you ashes team.

Pretty much all the new maps we're making are much more open.  Think Greenhaven or Painted Desert style.

The Substrate have shields at the unit level. There are no plans for large, area force-field type shields ala Supreme Commander.  We definitely want to do things ore 1   with multiple monitors, not sure if that'll make it in before 1.0.

I would love to see the Strategic Map on 2nd monitor, or perhaps as an Android app for one of my tablets?  Maybe both?
