Just played a game, and i realized that a smarty missile followed my air to air planes all the way across the map! I was able to stay away from the missiles, but eventually the only way i could get the missiles to disappear was to let them hit my aircraft. Bug, feature, i don't know but i found it odd when my arty missiles can only go so far, but these smarty missiles lasted forever.

I think having a range makes a lot of sense, even if it is quite an extended one. I don't have a problem if they don't miss. Plenty of the slower projectiles miss, having a guided missile makes a lot of sense, I mean, we have them now.
(on a related side note, do air have counter-measures? Is that what they fire sometimes? If they are countermeasures would they not sometimes succeed in tricking the missile?)
I'll have to test out the counter measure thing, it may come from the drone cruiser knocking out a few smarty missiles. My opinion on the infinite range of smarty missiles is to be determined.

you can bomb then with 3 planes, if you have 1 smarty.
After messing with smartys again, and seeing counter measures by the bombers I'm happy to say that i like the way they are. Buildings definitely are not a good defense measure, but they do provide the alpha strike.
