Space combat

Hello friends, I am super excited for this game but i am wondering is there any chance of bringing space combat to these massive battles. Maybe starting a match in space and sending builders down to build a base. have massive space battles going on while your ground forces surround the enemy base. Maybe even orbital bombardment. I am aware this may not be possible but i truly think it would be amazing, or to me it would.

Not for now and maybe never lol, This a Ground RTS game.

Ok thanks for the info. Not representing space combat is a major flaw in logic for space based RTS games.

How will this be explained away considering the story seems to be about moving from planet to planet?

I looked all over and don't see where you got "space-based". Yeah it takes place in the galaxy, but every game takes place in a galaxy. Lore-wise this game is a battle over planetary resources, so it makes sense it takes place on the surface.

Also you do not move from planet to planet, thanks to our mastery of quantum entanglement and distant matter manipulation.

Can we have warp gates to take us to different places, so that we can interact with external maps.

Make the warp gate look awesome.

Stardock has already made a pretty damned good Space RTS. I'd personally rather they focus on making the ground/air/naval combat as good and varied as they can, and leave the space combat to Sins.

Sins is a very aged game now mythistocles. It's engine technology is far behind today's - for obvious reasons. If a Sins 2 was ever to be produced, I would love it to utilize this engine. Could finally have larger maps and more AI without the game going down to a crawl half way through.

I was under the impression that there was going to be a game mode in this where players are fighting over multiple worlds at once? Sort of like PA's galactic war ( which they lied about, they never even came out with multiplayer/coop for it).

idk, I want this to be my new supcom, so I want ground combat and i want it done well.

I want to see SupCom style wet navy in orbit.

T1

Frigate: scouts ground and fights in orbit and can target air units but not ground, anti missile countermeasures

Submarine (renamed to Corvette): deep orbit stealth unit targets orbital units only

T2

Cruiser: bombard unit targets ground and orbit at range with missiles

Destroyer: orbital supremacy unit, strong anti orbital weapons and countermeasures against stealth corvettes, weaker ground attack

T3

Battleship: Heavy artillery platform, high health high damage low rate of fire weaker against stealth units and air unit swarms

Carrier: Large Support ship, strong anti air weapons, repairs and deploys air units.

Nuke Sub (renamed to Prowler): strategic stealth platform, can deploy nukes against various targets

T1 is about scouting and gaining Orbital Control

T2 is about supporting ground troops with light bombardment and securing Orbital dominance

T3 is about assaulting enemy bases
