New Priestess

Hi Everyone:

I'm working on a new priestess with what I think are abilities more in-line with her description.  I'm also trying to make sure abilities are in more clearly defined paths.

New Priestess Tree

You'll see a number of abilities moved about.  Some are renamed, some are gone entirely, and there is at least one new ability and another one coming to replace resource harvesting.  I plan on finishing the skill tree and then releasing that.  I am also working on a custom hero for her as well.  I think someone besides Keplin the Mage will give her some more zing.  And of course, with a new hero means she'll have different starting units as well.

Oh, another thing you'll notice that I changed her spell books to give her 4 enchantment spell books because the spells that it unlocked definitely seemed to be her thing.

Thoughts:

So, one of the things I'm contemplating is moving Recruit Hero to replace Resource Harvesting (which I'm going to do away with entirely) and figuring out how to maybe give her Enchantment 5 Spellbook as a choice.  That's one option.  The other option would be to create a few more custom spells and make them an option for her to pick.

I still might rearrange the tree.  Not sure yet.

Things to do for skill tree:

So, for the skill tree portion, I've got to finish the Divine Items option, create the recipes that go with it, and create the items to go with the recipes.

I need to replace the Resource Harvesting with something new.

Future Plans:

  • Creating a custom hero for her with a custom skill tree for the hero.
  • Contemplate playing with weaknesses.  Maybe her armies can't use ranged weapons or something.  Try giving her some flavor or something.

Anyways, feel free to give some feedback.

Looks good.  Like your reasoning.

Ok, so I'm looking at what kind of new items I want to make priestess specific and I've come up with a couple.  Any suggestions or thoughts would be welcome.

  • Celestial Armor (for the torso)
  • Holy Sword (bonus vs. Race_Type_Shadow)
  • Holy Axe (bonus vs. Race_Type_Shadow)
  • Staff of Life (does damage plus grants the ability to use Wellspring 1/99 turns).
  • Holy Bow (bonus vs. Race_Type_Shadow)

Other thoughts/ideas?

Alright, for the Divine Items, I've created/modified four items for it:

  • Added Staff of Life, a staff which not only does increased damage vs. shadow creatures, but also can heal all your allies during combat.
  • Tweaked Guardian Blade, a blade which makes the wielder more likely to counterattack those who attack him
  • Added Axe of Holy Fury, an axe which rallies against the damage inflicted upon the World of Elemental by making it more likely for it's wielder to maul his enemy, at the expense of being able to cast spells.
  • Added Bow of the Fallen Star, a powerfully accurate bow which does not like the Undead.

Mostly done with the sovereign skill tree.  Still need something to replace resource harvesting.

Ok, this is the first release of my mod to make  the Priestess "better".

Link is here.

Here is what it does right now.  I'm busy working on giving her a brand new hero.  I'm going to make the hero a surprise I hope.  Not a whole lot to balance test at this point, but if people let me know if they think it's balanced or what would be recommended to change, that would be awesome.

Ok, working on her custom hero, Chasan the Angel.  Chasan is going to have three skill paths to choose from: Army Buffs (things which improve the army), Personal Buffs (things which make Chasan tougher), and Angelic Abilities (spells/abilities to use in combat both offensive and defensive).

Chasan will start out with the ability to fly, she's hardy (+1 HP/level and immune to poison since she's an angel), she has the energizing aura ability to heal, and can of course counterattack.  She'll have one or two other abilities to put her on par with the other starting heroes.  I'm probably going to make her starting weapon an Axe, just because we don't have enough Axe's in the game.
