Forgive me, what can we expect to see coming up?

The next DLC should be the first expansion. From what I remember it will be called Crusade, there will be a campaign with about 8 missions, the Arceans and the Torians will return, and it will have some new gameplay mechanic they don't want to talk about yet.

I'm going with espionage. The invasion system, last I heard, is suppose to be fixed via free update to all.

Honestly I should rewatch the streams. But Paul was hesitant talking about espionage and even stated it might not be in the first expansion.
I predict it will be better combat and Starbase construction/management. Invasions may be part of it but also as the free update. No espionage in this expac, I think they wanted to do a complete revamp on how it would work with the game.
Commanders for ships with exp given per battles to increase ship effectiveness is also a distinct possibility.

Personally I would rather see full invasion over espionage. But both would be fine.
Found that thing I was talking about before, it was in the last stream so I have no idea how I missed it.
Q: Could we build up resistance like building military forces on the ground and spec them up into different type of units in the next expansion including spies?
Paul: That will not be in the next expansion, but yes we will be doing something like that eventually. The next expansion has something that's a little bit brand new that I don't think we wanna talk about yet, but is pretty cool. I mean aside from things we've talked about like the new starbase system and things like that. We're adding a whole game dynamic that I think people are gonna really like, at least I hope so cause I'm spending all my time on it.
Edit: one more thing new UP resolutions.
Some time ago I think they said their aim was for the expansion to come out a year after launch, so that would be 2Q 2016. Given some of the big things they say they want to do I think they are going to need all that time to get it ready. The base game was released far too early and it would be crazy for them to do the same with the expansion.
