cannot get startup screen buttons to work

I re-installed this game from Steam. I believe it registered the key as required. When I go to play the game after the intro it goes to a startup screen with the column of buttons of choices on the right. When I put the mouse cursor on any of them nothing happens, so I cannot play the game. Any ideas?

Sorry to hear you're experiencing this problem. Did you go through the activation process after clicking play?

Can you download and run the tool below:
