v1.56 a bit problematic

Performed the v1.56 update. Rebooted laptop and received a Group Policy service error. Attempts to log in would cause long clocking sessions, only to be returned to the Win 8 login screen. Eventually I was successful with logging in. Did a restart and this turned into a long clocking session. After a few more cycles of this, I uninstalled v1.56 and reverted back to the original install (v1.47) and no longer experience the issues.

Just curious if anyone else is having a problem with 1.56.

Not sure what a 'clocking session' is; are you just saying it took a long time?

Is your PC managed by GPO (work PC likely)?  If so, they very well could have it specifically configured and any change could cause issues.

If not, the following tool will purge the application.

**IMPORTANT** Please save any open documents/work and close out all of your applications including browsers.

Please follow this link:

Save the file to your desktop, right click it and select "Run as Administrator" if you're on Vista/7/8/8.1/10

When run from Windows 8/10, you may be notified that Windows is protecting your PC. Select "More info" and then "Run anyway".

Reboot the computer and reinstall the application. Note: It is important to get the most recent version of the application.

For getting your product, key and activation instructions, please see the following:

Please DO NOT change any of the default settings until you verify that the application is running as expected in its default state.

Correct. Between 5 and 10 minutes before Win 8 login screen appeared.

This is a personal laptop running Windows 8 that came with it, built by CyberPowerPC.

Thanks. What I would to do is install 1.55 and see if same issue occurs, as I had not updated in a while and thus do not recall what version I was on before the 1.56 update.

Sorry to hear you're experiencing this problem. Can you download and run the tool below:

http://sd.stardock.com/Support/supportToolTest/SDSupportTool.exe

Then attach the .zip that's created and send it in with a ticket to support:
