[SOLVED - 1.3] Turn stuck on "Wait"

I started a new game with the 1.3 Opt-In 2 and it was going along ok until it got stuck on a turn.  This is different from the other "Idle Ship" stuck turns as I can't save the game while it's stuck.  I reloaded and manually used up all ship movements and even decommissioned ships that were stationed at planets and the shipyard, then saved it.

If I hit the Turn button, the AI ships will move, but the game will not progress.  Also, if I hit "Exit", the window will close, but the game stays running in the background until I open the Task Manager and end the task.

<edit> The game is unplayable.  Stuck forever on "Wait" for the second game in a row.  Again, I had to end task in order to stop it from running. </edit>

Thanks! Ill go try it right now. How are you getting the turns to complete correctly?

Edit: game loads but as soon as I try to do anything (press button in bottom right, or try to colonize) it CTDs immediately

Tried a new game tonight, with the new patch, and I got a stuck turn again :(

Then I tried to retire and I got a CTD.

Also, clicking on "retire", than "mainmenu" gives me a CTD.

 

It's too late for me to try anything else and I'm gonna see Metallica tomorrow night, so won't have time before the week-end to retest it.  This game had some mods, my custom race, some custom ship designs and custom races from Steam Workshop.  I'll have to try without mods of any kind if I have the same problem.

My game also sticks on turn 777 (lucky turn?).

1.3.1 opt-in.

Exiting the game leaves the process hanging around and I have to end task to finally kill it.

I was just loading it and hitting the turn button.  Sorry about the CTD.  I don't know why that happened, but it might be because I don't have all of the DLC downloaded.  I only have the Snathi DLC enabled in Steam.  I'll enable all of them and try again this evening.

Well, I decided to roll back from the opt-in to see if I could continue my game that I've already invested many hours into. Of course my save games from 1.31 don't work with 1.3 but I was fortunate enough to still have a save game from right before installing 1.31. Loaded that up and saw I was only 6 turns away from the spot that kept locking up. I was able to easily go past that point. So the good news is, I still haven't lost my game and 1.31 seemed to cause more trouble with this stuck turn bug for me than 1.3 has so far. We'll see how far I can get before it happens again.

Yeah I tried that, rolling back to a save file 2-3 turns away, still eventually broke though at the same spot. Sigh.

Well buddy it worked! :thumbsup: k1 .  Very strange though. My saves (with  stuck turn) FROM 1.3,  running under 1.3.1 were still stuck after a few turns.  I downloaded both your "fixed" files and ran under 1.3.1; they worked (at least for 5 turns) .  You must have some voodoo working for you   ;)

I failed to mention this but that's what mine does also

That's too bad. I've been able to continue on for another 20+ turns past my stuck point with 1.31 since going back to 1.3.

Give me a few minutes to download the DLC and I'll give it another try.

In the mean time, can you verify your Steam GalCiv3 Integrity Cache?  (Go to your library, right click on GalCiv3, go to Properties, click on Verify Integrity of Game Cache.)

<edit>  I got it past the stuck turn, but kept going for two more turns to troubleshoot it.  I got a CTD on the second turn when I tried to move a fleet.  I don't think I can help you on this game.  Sorry. </edit>
