Battle Animations

Theres a new video at IGN with Endless space 2 gameplay.

 

It all smells like the same game with improved everything but one thing did caught my eye- The spaceship battle sequence has turret animations and ship animations. Its beautiful as hell and the Developer said all ships would be buildable.

 

Galactic civilization is a 64-bit game so I wouldn't mind extra +3 GB for ship animations! Maybe not in base game but in an expansion - why not? Wouldn't be it eye-candy for ship to ship dog fights with moving turrets and all boom and pow action? Sure its a lot of work but i mean- why not? Direct X 12 and 64bit- no limitation! Cant stardock team make something beautiful for the masses- sure they can!

 

Amplitude managed to do that so its doable!

I agree.  If nothing how about a force multiplier wherein a tiny ship is really a squadron of say 12 ships; a small ships is say a group of 3 or something.  The stats stay the same but we get more exciting battles.   It cn be an option so as not to overwhelm some players CPUs.

If the battles in the IGN video are anything close to ES 2.  GC 3 battles will look seriously outdated in comparison.  I know that some may argue that GC3 is not about battles, but then why such an emphasis on ship building.
