Revenge_of_the_Snathi_1

Galactic Civilizations III - The Revenge of the Snathi DLC is available now for $4.99 through Stardock or Steam.

The Snathi have risen from the ashes of their Precursor prison world. They have only one goal: revenge. The Snathi have vowed to put down those who kept them from taking from their rightful place as the heirs of the Dread Lords. No race is safe from the true face of EVIL... even if it is as cute as a button.

DLC Features:

  • The Snathi Revenge - The Snathi are an ancient race of extremely intelligent and bloodthirsty squirrel-like creatures. They were created by the Dread Lords as the ultimate weapon, but were locked away…until now.

  • Revenge of the Snathi Campaign - Lead the Snathi as they break free from their prison world to take their place as the face of evil in the galaxy.

  • New ships - Completely new Snathi ship styles and ship parts.

  • Scavenge Faction Ability - The “Scavenge” ability allows Snathi to salvage the ships of their vanquished foes.

Available now!

A little enlightenment please. I purchased it, but haven't played a game with it yet. As far as the sandbox goes, how is this the best DLC ever? What changes can I look forward to? Thanks all.

Not sure "best ever," but new race, new faction ability (and a very cool one to boot), and lots of new ship parts make this a very solid value. I'd still but a couple of the LH DLCs above it, but very solid. Oh, and I know you said as for as sandbox goes, but the campaign map is pretty darn fun as well.

androshalforc,

I do not know what you are talking about. Snathi are clearly much closer to squirrels than they are to teddy bears. Your pictures only support this conclusion.

the current snathi i agree look more like squirrels but the gc2 snathi looked much more like teddy bears. gc2 already had a race of squirrel like creatures (with 2 heads).  the old snathi look nothing like them

sorry androshalforc, the Snathi have always been squirrels. They were cuter in GCII, but still undoubtedly squirrels.

Yes, the best DLC so far in GalCiv3.  The Snathi are a blast to play as.  I imagine they'd be fun to compete with.  You just have to get into the evil squeeky voice mood before you load them up.

I've recovered several tiny pirate ships and scrapped them for a few BCs each.  When I'm strong enough, I'll see about getting some of the larger AI ships too.  They seem to start with minimal hitpoints left, so you don't want to go to battle right away.

They're very much hated by everyone.  I see nothing but angry AIs out there, using much more energy in their distaste for me than called for.

It's refreshing. :)

Um, because there's not a massive amount of competition for the crown? Not a dis for the DLCs, but we've had a map editor, the (largely game-breaking) mega events, and now a new playable race with tech tree and abilities. I know which I'd consider the best gameplay-enhancing choice from those three options.
