Start10 shows Favorites folder as empty

Why does Start10 show the FAVORITES folder as (empty)?  The folder is still in the same location after upgrading to Windows 10.  I can open the folder and see all my favorites by going to File Explorer and also by going to the Personal Folder in the Windows 10 start.  However, Start10 shows the folder as empty.

How does one fix this?

Start10 by default shows the favorites for MS Edge not the IE ones.  If you go to the configure page you should be able to change this by clicking the advanced button.  In Start10 1.01 it will only show the edge favorites if that is set as the default browser.
