So i can't get a free trial WindowsFX 6 beta?

Not whilst it is in beta.  Trials will be available once it is released.

It seems that after a while the window effects stop working just like they didn't work with WindowFX 5. Right now my pc has been running for 26 hours without a reboot and the behavior is exactly like it was with WindowFX 5: Windows effects are not working, flipping over windows using the middle button of the mouse shows me a completely transparent window, menu effects are not working neither, monitor edge resizing is not functional... In fact the only thing that keeps working is window momentum dragging. Switching WindowFX 6 completely off and on again fixes the animations and the middle mouse click flip over functionality, the rest stays dysfunctional until the pc is rebooted. Could it be that it is somewhat related to the new virtual desktops of Windows 10?

Works fine for me in Insider Build 10525.

Working great for me on Win10 Pro.

Works great on 8.1. I like the transparent icon effects.

I'm curious to try the beta, but I can't seem to find out where the download link is.  I'm an individual WindowFX 5 customer (not Object Desktop), but when I go to the link you mention, it only seems to reference FX 5.  Maybe I'm just missing something?  Thanks!

roneill1213, only ObjectDesktop subscribers get the beta.

You'll have to wait for the release as per reply #3.

Works great here as well on Windows 10 release build.

Didnt encounter any weird issues yet aside from it asking me to deactivate the license on another machine which was odd but maybe I reached my total activations again since I tend to reinstall windows every few weeks and backing up the license doesnt help since after a clean new install my windows id is different then on the previous install so I need to reactivate my windowsfx every time.

Made a ticket for this so that will get fixed I am sure.

But the program itself works great so far. Will report back if I encounter any issues. Great work on the updates so far. Windows 10 is becoming useable more and more.

The new activation system requires that you deactivate before uninstall, or reinstalling your OS.

Why on earth would you reinstall Windows every few weeks?

Anyway, you open your WinFX, or any other Stardock app, look for "change license", click "deactivate this machine". Then uninstall.

Otherwise, the activation system will think it's still installed on another machine.

Okay.  Thanks.  I'd suggest updating the post then, since it clearly states that "the beta for WindowFX 6 is now available for Object Desktop subscribers and WindowFX 5 customers" (emphasis added).  Also, it includes a link for "for non-Object Desktop subscribes".  So, I think you can see why I thought paying WindowFX 5 customers were also allowed in on the beta.

But I'm a paying WindowFX 5 customer and I'm able to download, install and activate the beta. I haven't got a license for Object Desktop anymore.

I'd like to add that I was forced to stop usage of the beta since it has just got too many errors. Apart from the issues mentioned in an earlier post I have discovered a few more. I'm for example unable to launch totalcommander as soon as WindowFX 6 beta is active. Today I also encountered several crashes of explorer.exe as long as WindowFX 6 beta was active, explorer.exe crashed as soon as I logged into Windows. I needed several attempts before I fast fast enough to disable WindowFX 6 beta before explorer.exe crashed again. So for now WindowFX beta stays disable until a new release is out. I need a stable pc. But thanks to the Stardock staff for working on it.

Could you contact support please as those are not normal issues and clearly there is some kind of conflict going on so we need more information.

New Version doesn't have new amazing effects...

Disappointed 8C

Works nicely for me so far. That said, it would be nice to include a new start menu animation (for start10) that imitates windows 10's default start menu animation. Dunno if this is best posted here or in the start10 threads, but seing as the functionality of start menu animations in windowFX is already working I might well mention it :)

My Bad,sorry for my broken English... :S

I mean "new amazing animations"

I understood your English. I was merely saying be happy that it works as well on Windows 10 as it did on 8. Getting "new amazing animations" should be secondary.     ;)

Working great on Windows 10 Pro! Nice job!  Also "Make inactive windows semi transparent" is genius and a great feature to use.
