2014: Story and Design

3Q2015: Internal Prototype completed.  Multiplayer battles, investigating planets. (completed)

4Q2015: Founders Program.  Fans of the original will be able to apply to become a founder.  They will gain access to the vault and private forums where we can discuss what we're doing more openly. NDA required.

1Q2016:  Founders begin to provide design feedback.

2Q2016:  Founders get the tools we have.  The objective will be to help get the modding community going.

3Q2016:  Founders finalize with us the canon and get ready for Super Melee.

4Q2016:  Founders Program Phase II begins. 

1Q2017:  Super Melee Prototype with select Founders.

2Q2017: Planetary Exploration implemented

3Q2017: Custom Ship design implemented

4Q2017: Super Melee BETA! / Stellar Crafter built.

1Q2018: World Crafter built / Adventure Mode built

2Q2018:  Chapter 1 BETA

3Q2018: RELEASE!

 

After that it is all TBD.

No builds have been sent to Founders.  We are scheduled to do a very limited Super Melee multiplayer test this Fall.

I have been waiting so long for a true Star Control reboot. I really hope you guys do the game the justice is deserves. So many games have taken plot lines and character styles from the game without any mention of it. I truly hope this game turns out well.

Therefore I simply can't be involved with the early alpha/beta community - Fun as that might be.

Is the GDC unveiling still happening? Could not find you under exhibitors or elsewhere in the GDC schedule.

I would really love play the game under NDA as well, and give feedback. I have played all 3 star controls many times over the last 25 years and I can't wait to jump into Origins!  Please let me in!!!

Ok I am not getting it...I thought release date would be listed by now, is there a release date yet? I thought  it was going to be 2017 then May 2018 and now we are in June... ???

Release date is September this year. The precise date will be announced at E3 next week but unsubstantiated rumors seem to be pegging it around the 24th.

Are you a founder? If so then you should have been emailed a code that will get it to download what you need to play. If you didn;t get the email, one of the CMs or Stardock employees should be able to steer you in the right direction.
