This is some incredibly solid work, Hegemon. I tried replicating the Hurricane and Maelstrom once and my brain melted, I have no idea how you (or others on your team, if you have one) managed to make replicas that quality. Super hyped for the final release of this.

I'm (mostly as a personal project) working on an EVE Mod of my own, though lightweight, cosmetic mostly, and targeted more at the nullspec aspects and sov factions and such. If you don't mind me asking, how did you crop out the pilot portraits so accurately, did you use a special background with the select tool or did you manually go over their figures with a marquee tool, or...?

@Cyannis

Thanks! I really appreciate the kudos. I know just what you're talking about with that 'Cane and Mael... more than once I've sat staring at the ship designer muttering that there is simply no way to recreate [insert ship here]. But, so far it's nothing a little break and a beer can't solve! \o/

To answer your question, I made the leader foreground images by manually tracing the avatars with the Free Select Tool in Gimp.

Thanks very much for the response! And wow, you do have a lot of patience, heh. That usually takes a bit of time and a lot of precision.

EDIT: I do really like your idea with the pirates, it makes them a threat still and allows them to build 'tall' instead of 'wide' like most do. Though I'd think that -maybe- with Sansha's, given that they're very expansionist, should start with a colony. Just my two cents, but either way I really like the concept. (Or maybe if balance isn't an issue, a troop transport, hah...)

The Sansha's Nation play experience will be shaped by the tech tree, which (in version 1.0 at least) will simply be a rewritten Yor tech tree. Instead of building new population units as a colony project, which the Yor do, Nation will launch "incursions" as colony projects to achieve the same end. Ultimately though that's just a change of window-dressing, and the faction will still function like a normal player in the game rather than a universal non-faction threat like the mega event Dread Lords or Peacekeepers. The balance of the faction's abilities and AI pre-dispositions will ensure that Nation still plays very aggressively, however, as will several of the other pirate factions. In the lore and recent events in EVE, Nation has been slowly recovering and rebuilding for a century before launching its massive assaults only in recent years. I'll continue to assess and tweak the balance of the starting set ups as development continues, of course. There's plenty of tweaking yet to be done :)

@Beammm

Thanks and glad you're excited for the mod! :)  I'm on a hiatus from development at the moment because my professional and personal life just got super busy, but I'm looking to release a Beta Content Pack with the Amarr and Minmatar ship sets and factions before Thanksgiving in the US.

This. Is. Amazing. I'm new to GCIII, but a long-time player of EVE, and this mod just made my month! Thanks so much for the hard work on this. I can't wait until the beta release.

Any word on how this is progressing? The Thanksgiving release obviously didn't make it. :)

This pack is currently on hold based on his last post. Far longer than anticipated, but that's life. I hope these posts might remind him that there are still people appreciating his quality work!
