Win10 has a forum with a list of working games, but GC3 is not on it.

Since Windows 10 has finally arrived I have been perusing some forums on Win10 and came across a MicroSoft forum listing the games that run on Win10 titled "List of Games working on Windows 10". I didn't recognize any of Stardock's games in the list.

Brad has mentioned that Stardock has been testing GC3 on Win10 so I would guess that it should run, so why isn't GC3 in the list? And what about all of the other SD games?

It's not exactly a official list, nor a very extensive one. + it seems the OP is/was updating the post as more people posted more games.

Then I guess it is up to us to post on his forum. Is there anyone here that is running GC3 on the official released Win10? I have not activated mine yet.

There are people playing GC3 on W10, but it has been reported that the save game function isn't working.  With the myriad crashes and freezes, that would make it unplayable.

If anyone is having issues with Win10 and GalCiv3

1) Run Steam an administrator. Do this once and the 'cannot save' issue tends to go away

2) go to G:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\Galactic Civilizations III\_CommonRedist\vcredist\2012 and re-run the vissual c++

Those two things should fix you up

So far, I'm not having any issues with GC3 in Windows 10. Guess I just got lucky.

Its probably not an issue if you clean install the game. Since that will trigger all the appropriate vcredists and such.

Anyone who upgraded to win10 while having galciv3 installed will probably have issues. Some other games are having similar issues where the lack of the existing vcredists causes crashes and other weird things
