I love the AutoCombat Resolver!

I just wanted to take a moment and say I am really pleased with the AutoResolver.

Most tactical combat 4x games have an autoresolver, and inevitably something goes terribly wrong. I lose a critical unit or a key part of my army in an "easy fight". My trust in the resolver breaks down, and I have to do every battle in tactical view....which then dramatically increases game time and ultimately makes me lose interest.

So far, I have been very pleased with the resolver. Whenever it says victory or overwhelming victory, I let it resolve. Now on occasion I get some eye brow raising amount of damage...but my units stay up, which I can work with. When it says uncertain, I go into tactical.

This keeps the tactical part interesting for me. I get to wade through the small mobs easily, and get a good fight in once in a while....exactly how I like it!

Thank you SD!

Yes, I always use autoresolve on overwhelming victory with good results.  No hits or magic use.  Save a lot on time on the easy fights.

The setting that has the game immediately autoresolve overwhelming victories is also pretty nice as well.

I use autoresolve for just victory battles consistently. As a rule, you lose about 25% hp on some units but not all. I'm not sure how it works really but I can say that it works out better for you in the long run especially if you stack healthregen. You don't have to worry about that Panther mauling your troops to death or a couple archers taking out your squashies. It isn't as fun though.

I wonder if more xp could be provided for going through the tactical battle or perhaps other incentives like more loot or somesuch. I rarely fight through a battle otherwise.

Until you lose to an ogre with 5 hp left...happened last night to an army with 495 hps.

Did the outcome say victory?
