 I thought that you were supposed to be able to create your own magic stuff, as opposed to just using premade recipes.  If so I can't figure out how to do it.

It's a tab on the crafting screen. On the left, there are two gold tabs. The bottom one pulls up the enchantment screen. 

 

It should probably be better explained.

Also, in order to craft your own items, you have to select the ability to do so in the sovereign's skill tree - which is probably a little different for each sovereign.

Thanks for explaining this.  I feel so stupid now.  All my look at the enchant screen and I completely missed the 2 tabs.
