Yes, I saw that there was a download at 12pm EST and that I then had a Map pack. Looking into checking it out later. Thanks!

I purchased and downloaded this content.

When I click on load maps I see all of the ones listed, except for Milky Way.

Do I need to do something different to access this map?

So you have to buy this DLC to get the map editor?

I read somewhere, a while back that they limited the map size according to your RAM size.  I tried searching and can't find the post, though.

How much RAM do you have?

Map editor sounds interesting. But I`m not interested in the multiplayer maps. Can you do something special with the editor what the standard random generator can`t?

I'm an elite founder and I steam doesn't  recognize that it seems. The DLC is not added and i can buy it from Steam. Already paid for this :/

Even logged onto stardock.com to double check on my account that I indeed had an Elite Founder status and I do.

What gives, Stardock?

p.s

Right, so I think I found the maps under "Load map" when you're making a new game. Kind of confusing to have it available for purchase on steam while they're showing up in-game.

The map editor is awesome!

One question though - is there a way to specify which AI race gets which homeworld? It looks like the AI gets randomly assigned to the systems that are tagged as homeworlds. It would be a bit of a bummer if you could not specify that the Altarian AI starts on the Altaria...

You need to right-click GalCiv III in Steam, select properties, and then DLC. You should see it listed there.

Steam will show the store page for a product, that's just how Steam works.

It's in the scenarios.

And for those who don't know, "Scenarios" can be accessed by clicking on the Campaign button from the main menu. :)  "Milky Way" is under the "Standalone Scenarios" section underneath the "Campaign" section.

Any chance you could release the Milky Way map and make it customizable so we can get rid of minor factions, adjust space pirates and change victory conditions? The map looks really cool, but I'd like to be able to change the terms I play it on, I really like conquest.

Adrian, you beat me to the question. How can we specify the home system we create for each custom race? It seems to offer "random" as the only option.

Is it as simple as naming the Homeworld the same name we gave the custom race?

1) If I copied and created the Terrans, will the game recognize them and put them in the right system? Same for the other races.

2) What about all the customs? How can I fit them into the prpoer systems. (It will suck if the Drengin are using Mentar as their home world.)

3) I can see where my custom race will obviously go in the right system...I'm the only human playing.

Please let us know if anyone figures out a way to manipulate this and put all the factions where they belong. There must be some combination of using the help key and something like "localplayer" to manipulate this seemingly small hurdle.

Thanks

To be honest I would have hoped they spent this month fixing the AI and a few other bugs & crashes. Love the fact that we get content, but the AI is dumb.

Little bit disappointed.

Little bit disappointed.

The people working on the maps aren't the people who would work on the AI, as I understand it improving the AI is mostly Brad's hobby and he will I'm sure have been spending time on it.

1.1 did have some AI improvements in it, as with previous games the AI will continue to get tweaks and improvements for years to come. So just to repeat the point I don't see how production of Map DLC will have had any impact on time available for Brad to work on AI fixes or improvements.

I want you to be right. I just don't wanna see this game die down with DLC's being released for cash and no updates. I guess it's the fear of how most companies support their games as of late. STARDOCK got a great record for supporting their titles, it's the fear in me speaking.

Would be nice to see the AI work like Civs IV. They were relentless.\

Anycase, thanks for clarifying, puts me a bit at ease.

We just released a significant update yesterday as well. GalCiv III is planned to be supported with updates, DLC, and expansions for the next few years.

Okay so I am a founder (hence the badge), but have no access to the new DLC. Checked the DLC tab in the properties window in steam. No luck. Any thoughts?

The Milky Way map is used if you select Campaign from the main menu and then select the Milky Way stand alone scenario.  It does not appear to be available for sandbox games (yet).

You may be a founder, however, are you an elite founder?  I don't remember if the regular founders get a badge as well...
