Ships are not shown in the designer after closing the game.

So i designed a complete battlefleet for my empire. I used parts from all races. Furthermore i used parts from tiny to huge.

I saved them all as templates and closed the game. The other day i started the game, loaded my latest save and ALL of my ships were not there!!!!!

So looked into my cache folder. They all were saved. BUT you do NOT see them in the game! I tried to cut the saves out of the folder and to paste them again.

But NO, my ships are still not there!!!!

Hours of work for NOTHING!

Really this bug is so damn frustrating and makes you angry like hell!

 

PS: This is not the first time. It happens to me 3 times already!

Did you save your game too after creating them? Do they appear on a new game?

Games in progress store a lot of the game's data internally in the save game, rather than loading it in.

Well i do not saved the game i think. Maybe here was the fault. No they do not appear in other games. But this could be the problem. Thank you for your answer. I will try it out.

 

It is saved. But not in the save game folder, but in my designed ship folder. But it is still not availiable in the game.

This may be a silly comment, but it did happen to me...

If you save a design as a template it does not appear as a buildable ship but as one of the hulls in the 'Medium' group (or small or whatever). You don't say, so I'm offering this in the hope you will spot them there. If not, then I'm out of ideas.

In v1.1 (still an optin as of now), there are 2 game options which possibly alleviate this problem.  1) Show all Ship Designs 2) Show Over Capacity Designs.  

 

The first option I believe will show ships based on other race's hulls, to be available to you,  Not entirely sure.  

 

The second option, I have certainly see work - it will show ships that you dont have the capacity to build, it will show them greyed out, but nevertheless it will show them.  This happens from designing a ship while you have a high level of miniaturization technology, however in a future game, you may not have that same amount of miniaturization and therefore cannot build it.

I tried everything you told me here. Well it seems something worked. In the end i uploaded some ships of me into the workshop.

 

And tadaa all my ships are back in the designer now. Thank you anyway.
