Trade Modules on Starbases

Do trade modules only work on starbases affecting the actual trade planet? I built one on a starbase by one of my worlds along the trade route. The blue trade line clearly ran through it's zone of influence. When I checked the govern screen, there does not appear to be any change to route value. I can see the change when I add the module to the starbase of the world originating the route. Is this by design, or a bug? If it's by design, I have a problem. In GalCiv2, we could build "Trade Starbases" along the route.

You have to have the star-bases zone of effect include the planet to change the trade route value, this is by design.

Thanks for responding. I understand that. I put the module on a planet's own starbase. The zone of influence clearly covered the planet in question...that's why I built it there. When I followed the trade route line from the originating world, to the trade partner, it clearly ran through this other world's starbase. I added the trade module and saw no additional revenue. Not in my govern screen, or on the starbases itself. Any ideas?

Only starbases around the planet where the trade route originates matter.

Thank you Joe, although I wish the answer were different.

It does not matter what starbase area of effect regions the trade route line goes through, the only starbase that would effect value would be the one influencing the planet of origin. But as I understand it, the starbase you put around the planet of origin did increase revenue, correct?

That is correct. I was hoping it would add to the route if you built Econ bases along the route.

Thats a good concept, but yeah, not design intent. Hopefully that idea would be considered in a future economy/government DLC.
