could not get game to run on windows 8.1

The game starts, the menu comes up then picking quick start or campaign sends me to a greyed out screen and the game eventually dies.

video card is a AMD Radeon HD 6570, Playing on a dell 8300 16GB Ram, Intel 5-2400 3GHz Box if that helps.

I have tried to validate the local files which are valid, run in compatibility mode and still no luck.

Yeah i'm leaning towards saying that its the older GPU hardware causing the issue. It is possible that this may not be the case though.

I believe the HD 6570 only has 1 GB of RAM, it may not work with Ashes.

Actually the one I have is a 2GB version.

I don't know much about that card, 2GB DDR3 sounds suspiciously like it's trying to use main CPU memory which might be somewhat problematic. Supporting older budget cards that are borderline game cards in the founders will be sporatic especially given that driver updates for them are sometimes spotty. While I hesitate to recommend upgrades, any new APU or integrated Intel graphics will likly outperform this card.

that is a low end card, it has DDR3 onboard memory It does not use system memory, if it did it would have had HyperMemory in the name here is a similar one http://www.techpowerup.com/gpudb/b1524/asus-hd-6570-2-gb.html its way to slow on the memory bandwith front
