Rival eXpansion

Having played about 5 hours of the new patch, I can say that I haven't seen them expand much, if at all. Which led me to think that they should have outposts, too, as they each had a lot of resources next to them and I was able to use MY outposts to gobble them up.

Aren't they supposed to be....rivals? They still seem very passive to me.

Overall, however, Sorcerer King is extremely polished and fun. Some niggling bugs - and I though Logistics spells were going the way of the dodo? - but most definitely the best Elemental game you guys have made by a long mile.

Yeah, noticed the passive rivals too. They roam around but don't expand much. Think it's gotta do with the late change to actually present rivals in the game, but I'm hoping this can be improved upon before release.

For the rest I agree with XWerewolfX, very polished game with some very fun mechanics.

Just getting nerfed. they'll still be an option, but spells won't be a major way to get Logistics.

So bizarre...my game saw the Yeti's with 3 cities and Swamp Giants with 2 (Small Map, Normal Minor Difficulty).  Certainly something we'll be tweaking through release.

Thanks guys :) Means a lot in this final push towards release!

Any chance we will see the minors use outposts at 1.0? Or is that something that will come later.

Also, perhaps your build has some tweaks in it regarding the rival AI?

You can absolutely be proud on what you did here with the team. I joined the first beta and after having played around 100 hours of FE and FE:LH I was kinda underwhelmed at first. Thought the idea was really cool, but back then it looked a lot like FE:LH and of course the first beta was limited by just one sov. It really deserves some more attention than what it's getting right now.

What really makes it stand out for me now is:

- The lovely artwork on the create sovereign screens and the fun way to decide which way to go by making storywise choices
- The overall artwork in the game, imho a big improvement over FE:LH
- The addition of competing factions was a very good decision. Might need some tweaking (I'll report back after playing some more) but it gives you a (familiar) extra challenge. I think it's gonna help to attract more players to the game and it greatly enhances replayability.
- The world is alive. Lots of quests, lots of stuff to explore and constant choices to be made. Those are also presented very nice.
- Crafting and enchanting is a lot of fun and it's very easy to do and understand

Of course there's always gonna be wishes, but currently these are the only few I can think of:

- I do miss the customizability of creating your own sovereign a bit. Spoiled by GalCiv3 or AoW3 I guess. :)
- Like said earlier, there's basically only one victory condition, kill the SK. Would love to see different options to spice up the endgame.
- More factions and sovs, but that's stuff for an xpack.

I have been telling everyone that will listen to me about this game. It deserves to be huge.
