Colonizable Venus

Venus' atmosphere could be fixed by the atmospheric cleansing tech

Since this is the Future Ideas forum maybe I could post my idea here that would be a great addition to the game imo. So Venus... We all know that Venus is in the inner edge in the Habitable Zone and we also know that Venus is so hot because of it's thick CO2 atmosphere. And I was thinking can't the dev's make it another Earth-like planet that needs atmospheric cleansing to be colonizable? I know there would be 3 planets for the Terran Alliance but other civs already have 3 worlds in their home system.

Long story short Venus should be colonizable but requires the atmospheric cleansing tech imo.

Good point, but the devs I think want each initial system to have a total of 16 points max.  Currently 11 Earth, 5 Mars.  Want a 3rd planet, it should affect Earth and Mars (albiet, needing the tech eliminates most of the arguement).  Maybe a class 3-4 planet, and turn Mars to class 4 as well?

As it stand I think this will have to come with some kind of 'colonize dead planets' tech in an expansion, as currently the starting system balance is tied to tile numbers.

It's moddable though, it could be turned in to an Extreme habitat type world that required tech to colonize.

I would say in most games making Venus a Class 3 Toxic planet wouldn't be a big bump. And its not like Terrans have the sexiest tech tree (stares at the Thalen).

Yes, not the best tech tree, but Engineering + Pragmatic/Coordinated lets you take core world manufacturing planets, and produce ships anywhere in the galaxy.  Thats a very powerful combo which lasts ALL game (Colonizer for example, is only useful in early game, albiet can be OP if you are rushing shipyards, which may be nerfed anyways).
