I have been looking for a new game. PC i7 win7. Dialbo looks like it might be a good fit. never played any of them. Those of you who have played the series, where would you recommend I begin? IS first dialbo worth playing, should I skip and start at dialbo 2, etc. Which expansions are worth it? Thanks for advice..
Going back to Diablo 2 is going back 10+ years in gaming technology. It's easily my favorite of the three. The eXpansion made it even better. Like I said, though, it doesn't look so great by today's standards.
I think Dialbo 3: RoS is your best choice. It has expanded in content and complexity immensely since the luke-warm release of Dialbo 3. It is probably the best Dialbo right now. And the expansion to Dialbo 3, RoS, is a must have. Blizzard frequently runs sales of Dialbo 3 + RoS bundled, usually at 40 dollars.
Personally I think Path of Exile isn't quite as good as Dialbo 3, however, they are quite similar in the initial 10-15 hours of gameplay.
What does PoE's endgame look like nowadays? I haven't played for a long time. In Dialbo 3, you do timed rifts that increase in difficulty until you are defeated, and higher difficulty equals more/better drops.
Get Diablo 3 + xpac...don't bother getting just vanilla. It's great now. The only reason I don't play it anymore is I have a hardcore main and nearly die everytime I try to get back into the game...then again I usually try to pickup Diablo after a few drinks soo I think that might be my bigger issue. Anyways, D3 retcons some of the lore and re-explains everything so you won't miss any details if you skip the first two.
Grim Dawn is probably one of the best Diablo clones out. Just as deep and cool as Diablo in my book, and far cheaper. Plus with Grim Dawn, if you stop playing for a while, you don't have to worry about Korean hackers taking over your account.
Game requires PC to be on line while playing? That presents problems if connection speed is not sufficient?
End of ElanaAhova's quote
It could. I'm fairly spoiled and have a pretty good internet connection. With a background of doing tech support for an ISP many connection issues can be resolved by having them come out checking your connection. Depending on the company you would only pay if they find something on your end. In many cases they have improved the connection in the area but the household connections need some tweaking. Just make sure you get a quote prior to them going out to your home.
The first Diablo was possibly the first isometric ActionRPG. It's reeally simple by todays standards (and really easy as well) so it might be a good startingpoint.
