Just wondering if this is current possible.

If it is I'm going to hit myself because I just bought it again to avoid using that dreaded app (which I loved before Gamestop bought it).

I emailed steam before and they told me it is not possible as it is 2 different retail companies.

I had GalCiv 2 on Gamestop and re-purchase GalCiv 2 on Steam.

To me it is worth the support to Stardock, even if I am purchasing another copy of the same thing on steam.

You can wait for steam sales and purchase it then.

You can add it to Steam to be able to launch it, but not to download. Though if you just don't want to use GameStop at all, you can download the game right off the Stardock store website as it is.

Galactic Civilizations II is playable without ever opening the Game Stop App.

Well, at least there is an option not to use Gamestop to even download it, which is what my main interest was.

An important point though is that one of these days, (literally), the community update to GC2 will be released after some Stardock polish is added, and I am thinking anybody who plays GC2, which are a few lol, will want that update.   It makes the research trees for TotA better among other things.   And I am thinking it will be easiest to get it off Steam, though truth be told you can get the current version now (including an update to the executable provided by SD) which is working quite well (have to say that, I helped about 0.01%)  from the GC2 forums.

I have a number of games that I bought from Steam so I don't have to get up and put in a disk.   Just put 'em on the wishlist and let it cook.

I just wish Stardock could put all the games sold through Impulse on to Steam, however, they most likely have an agreement with Game Stop to not do that even though the Game Stop app is worthless anyways being it's no longer supported and you can't purchase anything from it anyways.

No, as Kryo made it seem as it was a no, and really hasn't been a big deal for me, however, I'll give that a try thanks.

A lot of the games I bought on Impulse now activate on Steam when I try to download and install them again.  The Gamestop App is more or less dead, as you can't buy any new games on it.

Not a valid steam code for me, and when I reinstall via game stop app it just installs.

Yes I have to agree the GameStop app is useless it no longer lets you archive your downloads, also when I called GameStop about the app no one even seemed to know what I was asking about. I'm afraid it's been long forgotten.

For any Stardock created games you have purchased, they would be located on your account page here:

https://store.stardock.com/myaccount/products

For any old Stardock games you may have purchased retail and want to now register, please do so here:

https://www.stardock.com/accounts/register

After, if there are updates for the games, it would be on your account page:

https://store.stardock.com/myaccount/products

For any other games produced by other companies, and due to Impulse now being owned and operated by Gamestop, you will need to contact [email protected] for access to them.

All the games I got on Impulse I put on Steam.  I just prefer Steam over the others.
