Nice.

I actually do not have any pressing questions...lol.

What is the next 'Big' update and can Paul kinda tell us what is in it? (1.1?)

How is the Steam integration going?  I am really looking forward to the whole sharing mechanism for mods and designs.

Is it too early to start begging for more colonization events?  I think I have seen them all by now.  ;)

Can we have ideology costs scale to habitable planets/# of factions. On smaller maps, you can only get 5 or so planets. Therefore you have to build the centers that give you an ideology point a turn, but it still takes forever to build up the cost of a new ideology.

In short, smaller maps scale down and larger maps could scale costs up.

So a large map with 8 factions would have lower costs than a large with 4 factions. Uncommon or rare planets would also scale down while abundant would scale up.

I think the new 1.02 went too far in decreasing the number of stars and planets. I have started many games on gigantic with stars, planets, and habitable planets set on abundant, and after 6 more starts on 1.02 it seems there are maybe half as many stars as before. Why so conservative for "abundant"?

Any chance this could get another pass and put the abundant back in abundant without messing up rare and uncommon for those who like a lot less?

I think everyone beat them over the head about the star reduction enough and they will raise it. Perhaps not as many as before, but more. What they really need is a new option of stars per region or average hexes apart, something like that.

Can you go over the combat mechanics for fleet combat? (Not just how starting position and targeting works.)

In the last Dev stream, ship targeting was discussed as well as ship roles, but not the actual mechanics of how attack and defense work. It looks like each weapon type causes damage to the appropriate defense type at a base 50% efficiency (can be boosted to 100% efficiency with techs) until the defense is zero, then the weapon will start damaging the hit points on further hits to a ship with no remaining appropriate defense.

Actually I have a bunch of questions:

1) Did you (the dev-team) ever consider to implement a system similar to the shipyard sponsoring system BUT for star bases so that...

-) ... the spaming of star bases stops as each planet may only support up to a maximum of 2-3 star bases and therefore each starbase means much more

-) ... an anchoring/unanchoring mechanic can be added to the star bases so that you can tweak the positioning later on, which is especially interesting when you couldn't reach some of the resources before but thanks to range extension upgrades you can, so you don't have to build an all new starbase/tear the existing one down.

2) Is it intended that the biosphere manipulator of the Altarians just gives 1 extra tile?

Every other race gets like tons of additional tiles with their terraforming upgrades, but the Altarians only get like max 5 additional tiles in sum with ALL terraforming upgrades built for some reason, which later on proves quite of a difference when every other faction/race has maxed their planets to oblivion.

3) It may sound like a Tibetan prayer wheel but what happened to the rifts?

I would find that an interesting option to have, as long as nobody is forced to have them.

Good point Medu_Salem. I never shift shipyards but would love to move starbases a bit.
Especially in early - mid game.
