Differences between the 3 Elemental games?

I  have not really played this since War of Magic and now I find myself looking at what I believe to be 3 games (Elemental, FE, FE:LH).

Few questions.

1.  Are these games mostly the same thing? like if I just start at newest game not really missing any content?  I ask this because some games like this like Warlock the first and second game mechanics are different enough where one may enjoy the earlier game over the second game and I don't want to skip FE for LH to find out FE is better.

2.  Kind of a build off question 1 is LH just a standalone DLC for FE? Sort of like how its stupid to just play civ 5 without the expansions since its so watered down.

3.  Are there any unique features to each game? I really liked trying to control the different nodes in WoM not sure if any of that made it to these later games.

4. Any other general information about these different games?

Thanks

I don't have time to write up a detailed summary, but the only reason you'd want to play E:wom or FE instead of LH are the 1-hour and 2-3 hour long campaign maps. In every other way LH is better, has more content, more refined mechanics, better graphics etc. LH is a standalone expansion to FE, FE is a standalone expansion/remake of E:wom.

The tone of the games changes significantly to include more high fantasy elements.

4. Just buy LH, it's a great game.

Game 1: trash

Game 2; Mostly refurbished trash

Game 3: reverting back to trash.

Sometimes yah just can't get away from the original trash. ;)

In my opinion there are just two games. The first three and then Sorcerer King

The first three in my mind just all run together in a blur. No major significant differences, they all look the same, the game play is fundamentally the same. Just small difference that in the long term just blended together in my recollection. Having said that I have played over 700 hours with the first three. Brad will undoubtably have very different ideas but I believe Legendary Heroes should have been the game they made and developed and perfected. The first two were prototypes.

I also really enjoy Sorcerer King. The graphics and gameplay have changed so you know you are playing a different game.

LH and SK are my favourite 4x games. Even when I put on my rose coloured glasses for MoM.

Although the graphics of SK are significantly improved, it still shares the problems of its predecessors, namely dead AI (independent factions do not do a thing), mediocre tactical combat, and many old bugs that were never corrected.
