Latest Servo Build #313
Scrap is Coming
The next update for Servo - date still to be determined - will see the start of the "real" metagame economy going into Servo. It's not final by any stretch of the imagination, but it's closer.
A new resource called Scrap has been added, which is what you will get when you sell parts. You can also get Scrap in crates, though crates are mostly more generous about giving players parts now. The premium parts that you can buy in Korso Drek's Den are going to cost Scrap.
That change helps clarify the motivations behind hoarding credits vs. saving for the parts. If you want to save credits for that really expensive crate now, you can do that. If you want to save up for that really expensive part for your Servo, you can do that too.
We've also added more options as well in Korso Drek's for when you're shopping for crates, though the schema for these will be changing again in the future. We've been trying some things with crates to help keep progression fun.
Of course, we are looking for feedback on how this should all work. Please let us know your thoughts and when the next update is out, your experiences as well with these changes to the metagame.
Playing with the Developers
Last night was our Servo Play with the Devs game night where members of the development team played multiplayer games with Founders. Firstly, a big thank you to all of the Founders that came out to play and chat with us, we hope you enjoyed yourselves.
Obviously, I need to practice. I was having a tough time coming up with a win in PvP games. I had games with Draco, wondible, and tim, among others.
Draco and I locked horns last Saturday during that day's PvP event and he beat me every time. I tried to make games interesting, by forward buildings near his Dropship for example, but even when it looked like I had gained the upper hand he was able to recover and turn the tide back in his favor. Watch out for him.
I played one last game against tim who mentioned that he'd had a rough night of losses. I was expecting a lesser experienced player but he obviously knew what he was doing and our back and forth game ended in his favor. I got fairly aggressive early - our game was on the new Creep Rock City map - and ended up right outside his base. I blinked and tim's second Servo appeared so I made an orderly withdrawal...which turned into being chased all the way back to my base, where I was out played.
Thanks to wondible and others for the Coop games that softened the sting of the PvP losses. AI controlled enemies are far less likely to dodge all of my missile related abilities that I currently have.
GGs.
