noob guide?

Is there any guide for people who are new to gc3 (or any galciv)?

There seems to be a wiki on gc2?

If there is a link to a manual or guide that one could read on the train That would be great!

Thanks.

Theres a GC3 wikia but its new atm.Theres also a couple of getting started posts in news/dev journals on this forum.Failing that just ask and some of us more experienced players of GC3 will try to answer if we can?

Thanks for above, very helpful.

I personally find the tech tree daunting... And I'm an avid civ4 player... I guess it's because in civ the tree is based on real history to some degree... So we intuitively know the path to take And understand the merits.

so I have a few questions (playing as terrans)

1. Is there a unit tree? is there a general rule on how strong your ships should be in each era?

2. what techs do you go after to begin with?

3. do you build multiple shipyards or pool the manufacturing to one.. and best way of doing this?

4. For the map sizes what pc do you need to be able to run them well? (I have I7 920, 12gbram, hd5800) and is a bigger map with more ai more fun?

5. What game speed is best? I guess it might scale with map size?
