Just a heads up for everyone - we're going to start playing in about an hours time.

Thanks to everyone that came out - had some good games with wondible, Draco, and others.  Hopefully you enjoyed yourselves and took it easy on the developers. ;)

Thanks everyone for the games :)

Shall we post our hot takes here? Here's mine:

-IMO Turrets are too weak, every time someone tries to tower me it doesn't work. beacons and servo upgrades are more cost effective area denial IMO, and can help you go offensive. Might be cooler with upgrades but being rooted in place, costing the most to build and requiring progression down its own set of upgrades make it pretty pricey to invest into.

-Might just be because the volley/barrage pods are the most fleshed out parts right now but gun drones die really fast in a group fight, stun and heal bots feel pretty fragile too. I use a lot of boring drones as meatshields

-Bloom meteorites land on top of eachother in Emerald Hills coop, creating really hardcore zones of Creep Death. By the end it can take both players to push them with missiles

Looking forward to doing this again.

Really fun, thanks for the games.  at one point my main servo did not rebuild. the timer just stuck at 0 for what seemed like eternity, eventually blink did come back.  was this a bug or some kind of attack?

My micro and booming wasnt really enough to compete, It would be cool to have some sort of shiled power that protects buildings and also a better way to attack economy.  Soo much damage has to be inflicted to make a dent that quick hit and run raids really dont accomplish anything.

All in all i had three very exciting matches that got my blood pumping. well done:)

Can put a good dent in them if you pack 6x barrage or volley pods on your servos and snipe with them. Going in and knocking down a tower or 2 and retreating can work too, if they rebuild you spent 0 bloom to cost them 250 bloom ;) Maybe more unit variety later might shake things up WRT that, there isn't really a way to siege blobs of towers with drones, its all on the servos.

Oh and a bug I found, when a servo dies after their rockets have launched for abilities like hail mary the rockets won't do damage when they hit.

Really need to know more about the situation. When was it in the game? What upgrades did you have? Parts? etc.

Overall, pending more info, these observations are "in line" with the design goals.

Turrets do lose, eventually, to Servos. They should be a decent stop early, but offensive needs to win at the end.

Drones are a little more powerful in our latest internal build, but yeah, they won't do well against AOE. The boring drones are specifically there as the 'meat' shield. If you want to soak up or do a lot of damage to non-drones, you need the borers. As we add more drone types, those relationships will change a bit. But, like towers, drones will eventually lose out to servos at the end (within reasonable numbers).

Yes, we agree on the econ raiding. We've been making some changes in that regard. I don't think the next build's balance/features will fully fix things, but it should be closer.

Some kind of shield power like that is on the list, actually.

I noticed that humans can reliably dodge volley pods, but no matter which way I turn against the AI, the explosions always appear on top of my units.  Does the AI cheat, or am I just one second too slow?

Missed the multiplayer night, due to work. Is there another one planned for this weekend?

Any idea when the next one is on the agenda?

I've noticed this too, but when the explosions appear on my units against the AI, they don't do damage. It just seems to be a graphical glitch.

Maybe I'm thinking of the previous build on the damage count.

No event planned for this weekend, but I'm sure we'll likely have something going for next Friday or Saturday.  Any suggestions on the time?

Yes, certainly no intent for the AI to cheat on that.

It just feels like the turrets are a waste of bloom, massed up they can make an area temporarily dangerous but you have to spend so much bloom that any time someone does it I just tech up and roll over them. If they put down 4 turrets that's 1000 bloom they didn't spend teching up or on a movable army. Too much opportunity cost IMO, and because they don't stay useful long term the upgrades that might have brought them up to usefulness require over 1000 more bloom.

Fair enough. Looking forward to your thoughts on them with the next update.
