How to know which planets to trade with?

This is something I have been wondering about for a while.

1) Should I look for planets that have the highest incomes?

2) Should I look for planets which are furthest away from my empire?

3) Or both of the above?

 

What criteria should I be using when deciding which AI planets to trade with in order to make the most income possible?

It's a combination of both, though I couldn't give you a ratio. You can see the numbers in the trade screen. I usually send trade ships to any very rich planets and to the farthest away.
