Since it's still 0.97, any changes will be listed in the 0.97 changelog - in this case, Beta 6 Patch 2. Anything new from .2 to .5 is added at the end of each section (eg, Helios ore was fixed .2 -> .5)

Take it from me it didn't help the multiplayer regardless of version.

How do you figure out what version you have....the main start up screen just shows .97.....

I'd like to get the hotfix (assuming that it's out) and verify that it downloaded properly.

on your games library on your steam page right click on the game name and go to properties and click the betas tab and mouse over it it'll either be 0.97.02 or.05

hope this helps

Today's update was mostly to address multiplayer and fix the invasion crash. A few other tweaks were made as well.

Or go steam Library > GalCiv3 > Properties > Local Files tab > Browse Local Files > then on GalCiv3.exe. go > Properties > Details, and it tells you the product/file version :)

Unable to get multiplayer to even start a game at the moment with the latest opt-in patch crashes when attempting to launch, anywhere from insane 50+ player games down to the small 2 player games. :(

That did not do it either.

Try getting all players to disable Steam Cloud for GC3, then delete the GalCvi3 dir in %user%\docs.  At least your game might start but it will still crash a lot and will probably reach a point -- at ~turn 60 or so -- where no amount of reloading will help.

So in other words its buggered till the devs actually fix it properly.

Pretty much.  Still a few desyncs to nail down I expect.  It'll get there.
