my reaction to the alpha

Let me first say, I promptly quit my other games and am devoting any gaming time I have (not much) to playing this.

The potential for hard to predict fast paced and relatively quick player vs player battles has me excited.

First, on the Map:

I am not really sure if I like the ability to see everything. The first few minutes has some down time and there needs to be something to do.  Has there been any interest in making the map explorable or using radar/AWAC type units to control visibility.  In a strategy game this is a needed level of complexity. In all warfare, your intel on the surrounding area is an important skill to develop.

The Servos:

It is a little hard for me to figure out which weapons counter other weapons.  For example, lets imagine a 3 vs 3 servo battle.  I would want a high damage short range weapon on one servo and the other two servos to have ranged weapons.  But these weapons should have specific counter abilities and am having a hard time figuring out what does what.

Id like to see some sort of mobility advantage worked in as gear for a servo.  I want to put some "jet boots" on my dude with the swords, so I can cover a short distance very quickly to get in and do some damage.

The Drones:

Id like to see about twice as many types of drones available by stage 3. Consider as strategies are developed these new types of drones are introduced to counter them.

More techs available in stage 2 would really increase the type of unit combos that could be effective.

Bloomspawn:

I love the idea of the bloomspawn randomly appearing. This really helps to prevent players from getting too comfortable and should make the action go back and forth.

I played one match where I repeatedly got struck by an "Orbital Strike" that wiped out my servos and drone army about 3 or 4 times in a row.  What is this Orbital Strike thing?

keep yup the good work,

Another issue I have been having, I cant seem to get my windows task bar to stay under neath the game. I have to use the cursor keys to move my map down.

It would be so cool if I could setup my Ch products throttle and fighterstick buttons instead of using mouse and keyboard. Any chance?

alt+enter to fullscreen the game, it defaults to a large window.

We are trying the no-fog thing to keep game time down and make it less cat and mouse. We've been pleased with how it feels to date, but that's why we're doing this (to get feedback).

The combat states (that will start rolling out in the update, but will really take all summer to fully come online) will be the thing that you're looking for in the servo weapon/counter weapon comment, I think. Those are heavily tied to the damage type changes we've made (5 types of damage now, etc.).

The full drone plan is 6 to 8 drones. That system/content is starting to get fleshed out more. The gun drone has become the counter drone, for example. That allows the other drones to have more exaggerated roles.

Jet boots (or the equivalent) are on the list for the Champ. I don't think the Juggernaut will get those, though;)

Orbital Strike is Zeth's pilot power. Given what you're saying there, sounds like the AI picked him as a pilot.

Thanks for the feedback!

I like the mechanic with no fog for the very reason you gave, though it could be a good change of pace to have one map where each player starts with a base on either side of a fog-filled valley. I'm also glad to hear that the gun drones are being given a niche since the current build has them pretty worthless  X(
