Elite: Dangerous

Space Sim Sandbox & More

https://www.elitedangerous.com/

Been playing 2 months now and I recommend it for anyone that wants a real space sim.  Be warned; this is an unforgiving game in terms of learning curve, but is is rich in immersive elements and a very supportive community/fan base.

It just came available on steam recently:

Latest beta release for Powerplay (version 1.3) was released on 05/20/2015.

Here is a look at a segment of new Galaxy Map format:

Had it since early beta and don't like it.  It's boring, and extremely clunky.  Every action is laborious, and don't get me started on interdiction, what a load of old cobblers that is.

 Looks nice though.

Had my eye on this for a while but I don't care much for that "Interstellar" ship design. In the video above as far as the fighters go I like the one's they're fighting against better than the one's they're flying. Can you get a ship that doesn't look like that?

Some of the new ships released with Powerplay are not shown.  Ships do have custom skins available that include ranking emblems and other thematic insignia.

keep in mind that as a Space sim, Elite: Dangerous focuses on the sandbox aspect of player interaction.
