Battlefield Briefing 4/16/15

 Latest Servo Build: 266

I completely dropped the ball and missed out on our Servo playtest session on Tuesday this week.  Well, really what happened is I had a deadline for some tasks and needed to get those done - which included updating the Founder's Vault with some new stuff.  Dropping in to the extra mid-week playtest session we had yesterday I was met with new UI art and new terrain art.  None of which is final of course, but it sure looks better than what we had in there before and caused me to literally do a double-take.  The game can change a lot in one day.

Co-op

This screenshot was taken on one of our co-op maps, where you'll be able to work together with a friend to achieve some sort of objective.  It might just be working together to survive against waves of attackers, but we're also trying out other ideas such as hunting down and destroying Bloomspawn producing meteors or going on the offensive against an enemy base.  It's definitely a fun way to play the game already.  Even when the maps are too tough, which they can be right now since the game is far from balanced, we still talk about build ups and strategies for getting past a point that stopped us in a previous match.

Founders

Lastly - thank you to the Founders who have been inquiring about when the Friends and Family Alpha might be starting so you can get involved and play the game.  We'll have some more information on that in a few weeks time.  We're looking forward to playing the game with some new people.

More next week.

Those cliffs look awesome! There's something about cliffs and really green grass in games, I just love it. Servo really was far from finished when it was revealed, eh? I am quite excited to try it out now.

Thanks for the update! It's always nice to hear from developers. :)

Glad you're digging the cliffs! :D

Yes, the game was far from finished when it was announced and truly it is still pre-alpha so there's a lot of work to do yet.
