Love game ! (But some bug posts and stuff) Possible Memory Leak !!! ?

I just want to thank there devs for their quick work on this game, I am so far really enjoying it, That may be because I love deeply customizable space strategies but meh. I even shamelessly created myself as a a leader for a faction I created for a book I'm writing, sad I know but I couldn't resist. (No im not entering it in che competition cause it will fail).

THE FACTION logo and artwork designed for that is all my own work except the background, leave it alone the rights to that logo are mine so i'm not putting in competition :> !

I have encountered a few bugs though.

1. Sometimes Drengin scout ships are invincible to fight, I cannot beat them.

2. For some reason there appears to be a memory leak (YES my computer meets the system requirements) After an 2 hours the game becomes unplayably laggy and freeze, it can also lock up my computer.

- System Reqs just in case

Intel I7 4 Core

8 GB Ram

Nvidia Gtx 970

1 TB Harddrive low fragmentation Seagate Barracuda  300 gb free, and a high data transfer rate cant remember off the top of my head.

3. There seems to be intermittent freezing connected to the shipyard / designer screen.

4. Allowing the option for all parts seems to cause lag of some sort.

5. Rapid zooming or panning of the galaxy map causes intense freezing.

Things I'd like to see - If you got time I know ya busy ;)

1. Planet construction - like creating / destroying planets on empty tiles or the ability to change planet types.

2. High level techs, like obscenely high.

3. Ability to organize designs into categories, and filter out faction default designs - It can get real messy and with the freezing I get, It can take ages to design a fleet.

4. Ability to customize faction colours and interfaces to greater detail, instead of just copying other factions.

Of course I know you guys are busy, and I'm really happy with what you have done so far for £29.99 which I think is reasonable for early access you have done an awesome job :)

I also have an i7. I AI-overclock my chip 4.3Ghz via the BIOS (just one option needs to be selected, there's no manual tuning). I have an inferior video card to you.

But I have 16GB RAM. Maybe that's the difference, as I haven't noticed a memory leak (so far...) I also use an SSD for GalCiv.

Are you running other memory-intensive programs in the background? Try disabling all non-essential programs and Windows Services.

The store page says it recommends 6GB of ram though so it should be ok ?
And no I dont run many programs in the background, it seems to be linked more to play time than anything, because as soon as I load up its super fast, but after 2 hours it grinds to a halt :/

Per Derek Paxton, they have identified some memory issues and have gotten turn time down and performance in the upcoming Beta 5 patch 3, whenever that is released. :)  Hope that is soon.

GalCiv3 takes up approx 40% of my 16GB, so your prob could be memory capacity?

It says recommended 6gb though I have 8GB and when I check the memory usage in task manager it only appears to use about 3GB of RAM.

Update: part of the problem with the memory leak appears to be my end, this is also happening when using Unreal Engine: 4, allthough it appears to be worse on GAL3 Civ

Drive error checking, Defragging memory and hard-drive have reduced this somewhat.

My systems' specs are below of those from the OP. But they're almost identical to those given as optimum in the sticky thread; i5 Quadcore 2,8Ghz;  6GB RAM, GeForce GTX 650 gfx, so I thought they were good enough.

With the two recent opt-in patches, I get quite serious performance issues after playing ca. 100 turns on large/huge maps too. Mostly frequent lags on turn changes or when calling the ship designer.

I don't remember similar probs from earlier patches or from other games, though overall I do not play many games per year, and right now GCIII is pretty much the only bigger game I play at all from time to time.
