Is this game WORTH 99 dollars?

So, i'm a long-time fan of RTS. I have played Supreme Commander, Supreme Commander: Forged Alliance, and Supreme Commander 2 (which was frankly a utter failure to me.)

So, knowing what turned out to be Planetary Annihilation, which i support...

Is this game worth it? Is it so revolutionary?

And what's this subscription deal? Is it like EVE? Or is it pay once and get it for life deal?

It's a DLC subscription, any expansions they do over the life of the game are free, they've got a track record of doing 2+ expansions worth of content on their recent games, so it's probably going to be cheaper in the long run if you'll buy everything.

I've brought it but it's weird just based on the galciv time line I won't be playing this game properly for more than a year from now .. 

hopefully when the ui is done we get to have a little fiddle about with it.  I'm not sure how much of our feedback will be listened to but im looking forward to having a go and providing feedback, the idea seems interesting in itself .
