Win+X Menu

Often when I right click the start button and the Win+X menu opens, it closes again before I can select an entry. Usually if I repeat the right click the menu will open and remain, ready for my selection. I have the relevant option selected on the Desktop/Advanced screen. Am I missing some option here or do I have a deeper problem? I am running Start8 1.5 and WindowBlinds 8.1 under Windows 8.1 Pro x64.

check what software programs you have installed. hold the windows key + r at the same time and type in "msconfig" without the quotation marks and see what programs are running from when you first turn your computer on. there might be a glitchy program or adware or even spyware. scammers ARE crazy.

I already keep a good eye on all autostart programs. I have no adware or spyware, as indicated by various scans. All of the software I have installed is from reputable houses, no back street specials. That's not to say there can't be any bugs, but it is unlikely.

By the way, under Windows 8.1, MSCONFIG no longer provides a means of changing the startup programs; it's now done from Task Manager.

Problem Solved. I forgot to mention that I was also running DisplayFusion Pro 7.1. In DF there is a parameter to move the Win+X menu to the cursor position. Now I have disabled this parameter all seems well. I believed that the parameter should only have an effect when the Win+X keys are pressed, not when the cursor is used to call up the menu.
