Where did my star name go?

Hey all, I was wondering where my star name "Brutii" went?
As far as I know it's not trademarked, not offense.

There is even a wiki on it here.

I see a Brutus and a Bruticis in StarNamesText.xml, but no Brutii or Bruttii.

Found the page with star names, but was so long ago I forgot what name we put.  Heh...

I do have an email saying it was approved. Just wish I remember what it was.

I was just trying to remember what name I gave, too.  Arg.  I don't suppose someone has a list they could push out?  It wouldn't even need to be pretty.  Just the name you'll be using on the credits then the star name.  One pair per line.

You can just check them in the XML, too.

P.S. Cassiopea and Cassiopeia?  That could sure get confusing.

about halfway down the list just after G names start the list format changes rather then 

1           2              3          it now looks like
     1           23

this makes it look like many of the stars are now 2 name stars instead of 2 seperate stars

My name is first on the list on the site :D, "00zim00"... but isnt in the current StarNamesText.xml. unless its somewhere else?

My name that was approved is "Vaydra" and does not show up. That sucks! I feel like I was jipped because my approved star name is not in the Star Names XML file, so it is not in the game!!!

I had a ticket for this issue that was open for about a month or so, I had both my Starname missing and also my name wasn't in the credits despite having my Starname approved and also being a founder.

Finally about a week ago I got a reply and my ticket was closed saying the following:



Hello,

I have forwarded your report to our Development Team for their review and recommendations.

I cannot, however, provide a timeline for a response or resolution. You will be notified when one is available.

So from what I can gather, they will be looking generally at all founder names and Starnames to make sure they are in, but wont be looking until a later date until they have time. Which is fine I feel seeing as bugs and balance are more important atm. So guess we have to wait to will see what happens :)

Yeah, I just got the exact same email response. I agree a lot of time should be spent on bugs, balance, dlc, updates, etc. However, for many founders names to make it in the game, but many others not to have made it, just how does something like that happen? It sounds to me, frankly, like someone was incompetent that day. I mean, really, how does that kind of oversight occur???? Surely all the founders names were in a single database. Surely our names weren't spread across several different Excel spreadsheets. That is the only way I can think of how such a large oversight like this could occur. It is ridiculous and lame also.

Each name had to be individually checked before it could be included obviously. This leaves a lot of room for error. It happens, I'm sure they didn't mean to, they'll fix it when they can.

I checked the list again and it seems my approved star name was changed from "Bl4cksh33p" (no capital in the word so S is small) to "Blacksheep" in the XML file. I can live with that but still wondering why it was changed after the "leet" Version was approved. ;)

Everyone needs to visit the Blacksheep System to cuddle with black sheep. :D

Im guessing they did a pass over system names that had strange characters or numbers to make them all feel more uniform

I just checked my approved star name and it is finally in!!!! Vaydra is in!

 

I am very happy about this! Thank you Stardock for finally including it!

Thank you to 00zim00 for posting that you found yours. I had given up looking because it wasn't there for sooooo long. When I saw yours finally made it in, I thought I would look one last time. It was near the very bottom of the list.

Now, I will look into buying Sorcerer King. I'm very interested in it. As I said in a previous post in this thread, I was holding off buying it because of this star name SNAFU.

It's "csokifasz". It's a funny thing from hungary and they are arpooved it. They last updated the starnamestext file at 2015.09.16, but it is still not there.
