Latest .80 beta exits me to the desktop when I get well into the game with a gigantic universe.

I keep getting kicked out of the game when I do a mouse click in a gigantic universe. I was doing diplomacy with the Thalans and suddenly the games closes without an error message and I am back to the desktop. I had 99 planets at that moment and had the most influence in the galaxy. This has happened 3 times now. In previous beta versions this same phenomena would happen also. I checked off disable pirates. Yet they still infest resources like space junk. So disabling pirates does NOT disable pirates.
