4K

Okay so i am back again.

Long ago I posted about having a 120Hz monitor wanting faster dreams for smoother look on my monitor.

While that did not happen I have "downgraded" to a 60Hz 4K panel instead.

Are there any 4K animated wallpapers?

Thanks.

If you use Deskscapes, you can make your own 4K dreams.

All I did was download this http://videohive.net/item/spaceflight/7759643 and renamed it to .wmv. Dropped it in my dreams folder and wow! Looks stunning on my 65" UHDTV! A true 4K animated desktop.

I use the effect "Edge Sharpening" in Deskscapes with these hi res videos. That  preserves the original sharpness.

Worked well with a GTX 760, and now a GTX 980. CPU use is fairly low ~25%

Ok so you bought it?

I figured out to download 4K movies from Youtube with 4K Video downloader freeware, then I converted them using NCH's freeware converter, but I was not satisified with the result.

What is the loop on that movie? - Very good or?

Yep, I paid for that clip. Couple of others too. But that one I linked is still my fav. Loop is perfect.

Ok cheers.

I will look into it when I get salary and when my desktop isn't occopied by GTA V :)

Just bought GTA V. 1hr 20min left at 100Mbps

Don't convert the videos you download. Just rename the extension to to .wmv and they work in Deskscapes.

I renamed a Timescapes 4K movie .mkv to .wmv and it works fine in Deskscapes. You may codec pack. I will only use KLite codec pack. No forced spyware installs. Have to opt out of ask toolbar. But at least it is not forced like Sharks packs.

Ohh okay Doctor that is cool.

Will save me money then.

I have a I7-5960x was actually so happy that I actually needed to convert something.

For the fun of it I converted a downloaded 59 sek youtube 4K video and converted using lossless and in 6 minuttes the video was 13+GB and started out as 150Mb.

So that wasn't really good for desktop lol as 150Mb was max supported.

Goes rather good with my rainmeter setup.

I only have a 28" 4K monitor lol :)

This is my RIG and there is a few pictures of the monitor:

I am uploading my first video from the game to youtube as we speak, but I have sooo slow upload speed.

This is what I've used for years now.  http://filehippo.com/download_klite_codec_pack

The button you want to click is the big green one labeled Download Latest Version at top right.  Ignore all the other ones. During install, iirc, it offers to install Media Player Classic. If you already have a media player or use WMP, you don't need it. I have suggested K-Lite to others running Win8.1 with good results. You should be able to play darn near anything and everything.

Thanks that worked.

I tested some "only" MPEG 2 decoder, but to no avail.

Well a few extra codecs isn't going to ruin anything.

Thanks again.

For mpeg-2 this is better and much more lite of usually codec pack

You can also use .AVI file format uses less CPU usage than .WMV by 1/2

those are the 2 file formats we use to make the Dreams ..

Hi guys,

I've been busy with a lot of stuff, but now I'm back.

Any good 4K dreams coming along from you guys?

As usual I really don't care about the resources it requires... :)
