Need a resign function

The current way of resigning is leaving or selling your own stock. This is not so good. There needs to be a resign function which clearly signals to everybody in the game. Especially in 1vs1.

When a resign/give up button is being produced, i would like that it also blows everything up - dynamite style  B)

Awsome idea, with 5 4 3 2 1 countdown. Like Lemmings.

Might not be that easy.  The resigning person likely has other players who own stock.  I could see resigning just before a buyout as a sort of griefing maneuver.  So, in that case, does everyone get double their money back?  Regular stock value?  What about stock the resigning player owned?  Actually, what happens if a player leaves now?  I don't know.

Right now if you leave, you're replaced with an AI who fights until the bitter end.

I think the best way to handle resigning is to replace the resigned player with an AI who fights until the bitter end, but is marked as "RESIGNED", and if there's only one non-resigned player left then the game ends and that player wins.

that's how it works (well, minus the "RESIGNED" sign)

Will there be any difference between a resigned player and a dropped player?

... and relatedly, any plans to allow for a dropped player to come back in and resume play?

If that's how it works I disagree on the decision. That way players can resign just before being bought out and deny the other player their claims+buildings, which is essentially what you are trying to get by spending your cash on buying someone out instead of putting it int your own economy directly.

Sir-Rogers - I think Soren meant to say that it works the way that I described it (resigned players are replaced with an AI). It looks like he had a cut-and-paste error while quoting and replying.

Obviously the dynamite feature would only be used when there are only two players left in the game. Otherwise it changes the game completely.

Resigning with more than two players should mean that an AI takes over who fights until the bitter end, just like now. The difference is that when you resign compared to leaving, you can watch the stats, continue observing the game, and participate in the end-game chat.

yeah, I had a weird quote error. This is how it is going to work.
